Hello and a warm welcome to my website.
I’m Claire Vicars and I’m a trained and professional independent civil celebrant.
I love to write, create and perform. When I’m not crafting ceremonies, I’m a voice over actor and singer in a successful show choir. I also love immersing myself in reading and hearing people’s stories. Autobiographies are my favourite! The time was right for me to combine my love of meeting people with my passion for creating an event and writing.

I was initially inspired to train as a celebrant by the lady, now friend and mentor, who led my uncle’s funeral ceremony. She captured his life with such sensitivity it was as if she had known him. The celebrant gathered the information with us, treated it with care and respect and produced the most beautiful ceremony that truly honoured his life. It was a poignant celebration. I knew that I had to be a celebrant.
A year later I was a guest at my cousin’s wedding. This wonderful ceremony captured their love story and future wishes, featured their nephew as ring bearer and was encapsulated by excerpts of readings and songs. It was the most unique ceremony that I had ever been too. Full of laughter and insight. A pure celebration of love.
Whilst in a full-time special educational needs teaching role I retrained in creating and delivering weddings, vow renewals, funerals, re-naming and baby naming ceremonies. I didn’t stop there. I continued my studies, buried my head in books, websites and essay writing and gained my NCON certificate in Civil Celebrancy in the UK.
I am now a full-time celebrant and loving every minute of it. If you need any additional information, please do not hesitate in contacting me. There’s no fee for a meeting!
